The intermediate gearbox is designed to change the direction of the transmission tail shaft axis by an angle of 45° in accordance with the direction of the end beam.
The intermediate gearbox consists of a crankcase, a cup with a driving gear, a cup with a driven gear, a prompter , an oil measuring probe, a magnetic plug and an oil measuring glass. The intermediate gearbox crankcase housing is cast from a magnetic alloy ML-5.
The intermediate gearbox is installed inside the end beam and is attached to its frame No. 3 with four bolts.
