The COMBINATION CONTROL ACTUATOR KAU-30B is installed in the helicopter control system and is designed to relieve loads from the command control levers.
The helicopter has three KAU-30B installed in the systems of longitudinal, transverse controls and control of the general pitch of the main rotor.
All three KAU-30B are pivotally mounted in supports fixed with studs on a common bracket mounted on the main gearbox.
Manual control of the helicopter with the help of the KAU-30B is reduced to the movement of their spools when the command control levers are deflected. The combined control modes of the KAU-30B are switched by the signal pressure coming from the GA-192T electromagnetic cranes, and operate both from manual control and from autopilot signals in a limited range.
The KAU-30B is a hydroelectromechanical power unit with a tracking control system. With manual control, the operation of the unit is carried out according to the hydro – mechanical principle, and with combined (when the hydraulic booster operates simultaneously from manual control and from autopilot signals) – according to the hydro-electro-mechanical principle.
The KAU-30B is installed on the Mi-8, Mi-8T.
