Vibration damper 8MT-1280-100 is designed to dampen the vibrations of the main rotor sleeve in the plane of rotation in order to reduce the vibration level of the helicopter. It is installed in Mi-8MTV and Mi-17-1 helicopters to reduce the vibration level of a number of systems and assemblies, increase the operational reliability of the helicopter’s aviation and radio-electronic equipment, as well as to improve the working conditions of the crew.
The vibration damper consists of a bracket, a hub and five pendulums the bracket is made in the form of a conical disk, in the lower part of which there is a bore for centering relative to the body of the main rotor sleeve and five tides with holes for the fingers of the vibration damper. The hub of the vibration damper is attached to the upper flange of the bracket with the help of pins. An annular cavity is made on the outside of the bracket, which, together with a plexiglass cap attached to it, forms a compensation tank for powering the hydro dampers.
